Your details, plainly.

What we collect when you book or enrol, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 7 October 2026.

What we collect

When you book a free trial, enrol, refer a family or leave your details with KURA, our website assistant, we collect:

  • your name, phone (WhatsApp) number and, if you give it, your email;
  • your child’s first name, age and the programme you’re interested in;
  • the class time you prefer, and anything else you choose to tell us — experience, goals, how you heard about us, who referred you, or a message.

We also record how you found us: the campaign tags on the link you followed (for example from a Facebook or Instagram ad), Meta’s or Google’s click identifier, the page you landed on, the website or app that sent you there, the page you booked on, and your browser’s identifying string (user agent). This is saved with your booking.

Our public games don’t ask for personal details; scores and progress stay in your own browser. Some games and class tools have an AI that replies to what a child types, so that text is sent to Anthropic to write the reply — please remind children not to type personal details into them. Some tools used in class save a child’s first name with their class, so their work can be picked up next lesson.

Why we collect it

  • to arrange your child’s trial or place, and to contact you about it by WhatsApp, phone or email;
  • to run classes and keep records for families who enrol;
  • to understand which ads, posts and pages bring families to us, so we spend less on what doesn’t work;
  • to answer your questions, including through KURA.

What you must give us

To arrange a trial we need your name, a phone number we can reach you on, and your child’s first name and age. Everything else is optional. Without the required details we can’t book a seat, but you’re always welcome to message us on WhatsApp instead.

Ad measurement, cookies and similar tools

Meta Pixel. On our pages for parents — not on the games, class tools or children’s project pages — we use Meta’s Pixel, which sets cookies (_fbp, _fbc) and tells Meta when someone views a page, starts the trial form, books a trial, enrols or taps to message us. When you book or enrol, our server also tells Meta about it, sending your email, phone number and country (Malaysia or Singapore, from your number) only in scrambled (hashed) form, plus Meta’s click identifier and cookie, your browser’s user agent, the page you booked on and the programme. Your child’s name and age are never sent. Meta uses this to measure our ads and decide who sees them.

Google Ads. Google’s ads tag runs on every page of this site, including the games, records visits and records when a trial booking is made, so we can measure Google ads.

Site analytics. We count page views and steps through our forms with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. To stop abuse, KURA and our AI tools count requests per internet (IP) address.

Your browser’s storage. The site keeps a few things on your device: the ad or site you last arrived from (for 30 days), a booking that failed to send so it can be retried, what you told KURA about your child, and game progress. If a booking fails to send, we also log the attempt and the details you entered, so our team is alerted and can contact you.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and limit ad personalisation in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings. The site and its forms keep working either way.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your details. We share them only with the services that run KURAI for us:

  • Supabase — stores bookings and class records (Singapore data centre);
  • Vercel — hosts this website;
  • Resend — sends booking confirmation emails;
  • Meta and Google — ad measurement, as described above;
  • Anthropic — generates the replies of KURA and of the AI in our games and class tools, from what is typed to them;
  • Discord — alerts our team to new and failed bookings;
  • WhatsApp — when you message us there.

Some of these services store or process data outside Malaysia.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need it to arrange classes and keep proper records. If your child doesn’t join, or you ask us to, we delete your details — except anything we’re required to keep, such as invoices.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you and your child, correct them, have them deleted, or stop us using them for ad measurement or marketing. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. Ask us at hong@thekurai.com or on WhatsApp, and we’ll reply within 21 days.
